This policy explains what personal information Saleem Akhter collects through this website, why it is collected, how long it is kept and what you can ask to have done with it.

Who is responsible for your data

Saleem Akhter is the data controller for information collected through this site. For any question about this policy, or to make a request about your data, email hello@saleemakhter.com.

What is collected

Only two categories of information are collected here.

• Information you send. When you use the contact form, the contact widget or email, the details you provide are collected — typically your name, email address, phone number if you supply one, and whatever you write about your project.
• Information collected automatically. Standard analytics data: pages viewed, approximate location at city level, referring site, device and browser type. This is aggregated and is not used to identify you personally.

No special-category data is requested, and there is no reason to send any. Please do not include passwords, payment card numbers or confidential client material in an enquiry — if a project needs credentials, they are shared through a proper secret manager after work begins, never by email or a web form.

Why it is collected

• To reply to your enquiry and prepare a scope and quote — the lawful basis is taking steps at your request before entering a contract.
• To deliver and support a project once one is agreed — the lawful basis is performance of that contract.
• To understand how the site is used and improve it — the lawful basis is legitimate interest, and analytics can be declined by using a browser or extension that blocks it.
• To send occasional follow-up about an enquiry you started. You can stop this at any time by replying and saying so.

Your details are never sold, rented or traded. There is no advertising network on this site and no profile is built for third-party marketing.

Who else processes it

Running this site and its follow-up involves a small number of service providers, each acting on instructions:

• Web hosting — stores the site and its database, including form submissions.
• Email delivery — sends the notification and any reply.
• Google Analytics — usage statistics, IP anonymisation enabled.
• GoHighLevel — the CRM where an enquiry becomes a contact record, and from which follow-up email or SMS is sent.

If that list changes, this page is updated. Some of these providers operate outside your country; where that happens, transfers rely on the provider’s standard contractual clauses.

How long it is kept

Enquiries that do not become projects are kept for 24 months, so that a returning conversation has context, then deleted. Records relating to delivered work are kept for seven years, because tax and accounting rules require it. Analytics data is retained on the shortest setting the platform allows.

Cookies

This site sets no advertising or tracking cookies of its own. WordPress may set a session cookie if you log in, and the analytics provider sets its own cookies to count visits. You can block or clear these in your browser at any time; nothing on the site stops working if you do.

Your rights

You can ask for a copy of the information held about you, ask for it to be corrected, ask for it to be deleted, ask that it stop being used for follow-up, or object to processing based on legitimate interest. Email hello@saleemakhter.com and you will get a reply within 30 days. There is no charge for a reasonable request.

If you are in the UK or EU and are not satisfied with the response, you may complain to your national data protection authority.

Security

The site runs over HTTPS, is kept patched, uses hardened login protection and is backed up. No system is perfectly secure, but if a breach ever affected your data you would be told promptly and told what to do about it.

Changes to this policy

When this policy changes the date at the top changes with it. Material changes are noted here rather than made quietly.
